Rainbow Trail
This is a killer trail just south of Sadalia. If you have ever ridden Monarch Crest you have either been on this trail, or seen the sign as you flew past on your way down to HWY 285. If you passed it, you really missed out. Of all the trails around there, this is truely the best.
Getting There
- Take HWY 285 about three miles south of Sadalia.
- Look for the parking area on your right or left at the trail heads.
Trail Description
The attached track shows the trail toward Marshall Pass. You can do the trail as an out and back, or if you are pressed for time, you can ride up Marshall Pass to Silver Creek where the trail head starts. This track shows the route up to Silver Creek, and then back to 285. Park at the trail head on the west side of 285. Ride your bike down to the first road on your left. This is Marshall Pass. Ride up, staying on the main road, actually passing the turnoff for Marshall Pass, and continue onto Silver Creek. The road will get rough as you pass some homes on your left. It will turn into a jeep trail shortly after you stop seeing the vacation homes. When you get to the water, Rainbow Trail will be on your left. The trail follows in and out of valleys offering some great single track. Be prepared for some climbing, but they are short. Have fun! This is a great trail.
