Ferris Creek to Brush Creek
This is a great trail on the back side of Mt. Crested Butte. It takes you around Strand Hill, and down to Brush Creek on the other side. Much of this trail passes private land, so have respect for what isn't yours. The land owners kindly let cyclists have access.
Getting There
- Go to Crested Butte and park at the Chamber of Commerce.
Trail Description
Head out Elk Avenue toward Mt Crested Butte. Ride past the cattle grates and take a left onto Tony's. Ride up the single track and take a right when you reach Upper Loop. Ride upper loop to the top, or take the right and down onto Brush Creek Road. Go left on Brush Creek and ride down the hill and around the curve until you see the gate and steps over the fence. You will head up the jeep road, passing the turnoff for Strand Hill, heading instead down along Ferris Creek. The trail turns left, and you begin to ride up to the intersection for Brush Creek. Veer left and ride along the single track. You will have some great trail here, and not a lot of climbing. The trail eventually lets you out on Brush Creek Road. Ride back the way you came, or pick one of the other routes back to town.
