Breckenridge to Colorado Trail Loop
This is one of the best long rides in Colorado. Be prepared, and expect a lot of climbing.
Getting There
- Go to the Breckenridge Golf Course.
- Park about a mile up the road.
This ride starts with a long climb up the road. Head East until you get to the gravel pit. Then go right. You will then take a left and start climbing. Be prepared to do a little walking unless you have bionic legs. At the top of Georgia Pass take some time to look out at the Fairplay Valley. It's an awesome sight. When you're ready to get back on the bike head north to the Colorado Trail Trailhead. This will take you back toward Keystone. This single-track has a lot of ups and downs, and a couple of road crossings. If you're tired of climbing you can take one of the roads back to your car. If you make it around, the trail is pretty easy to follow even if the climbs are crazy. You will eventually run into a clearing from what looks like trees that were lost in a fire. Actually there wasn't a fire, it was beetle kill. When you get to the bottom, stay left on the trails to get back to the old parking area.
1. You can go right here if you want to go to Keystone
2. Go straight if you want to go to Dillon. Left to Breck.
