Ute Creek to Lost Creek Wilderness
******************NO BIKES IN WILDERNESS AREAS**********************
This is a great hiking only trail that takes you out of Tarryall Canyon into the Lost Creek Wilderness. This is four miles one way. Once you reach the top, you have a couple of options for other trails as well.
Getting There
- Go to Lake George Colorado on HWY 24.
- Turn right just out of town following the directions for Tarryall Canyon.
- Drive for about 20 minutes until you see the trail head sign off the road. This trail leaves right from the road. Bypass the trail signs for the camping areas.
Trail Description
Park at the pulloff at the trail head. Head over the walking bridge and take the trail. This is really easy to follow. After less than a mile you will have to sign in. It's free. The trail is gradual for the first mile. The next three are a steep uphill. This is wilderness, so no cycling is allowed. You would be pushing anyway. This is a great trail for backpacking and camping. Remember to pack out your trash!
