Lovell Gulch
The image on the left actually shows two tracks. On the climb up, you have a couple of options for the loop. You come to a Y intersection, and you can either climb the root run, or go right and make the loop slightly longer.
Getting There
- Take HWY 24 out of Colorado Springs to Woodland Park.
- Turn Right at the McDonald's. This is Rampart Range Road.
- Go through the four way stops and up the road past the schools till you reach the City Works department on your left.
Trail Description
Head through the gate and go right. Stay right on the trail until you get past the houses, then stay on the main trail until you come to the steam. Go right after the stream. Continue to ride uphill, keeping the stream on your right, and passing the turn across the water later on the trail. When you come to a fork, you have the option for right, or left upthe root run. When you get to the top, ride under the powerline and down the jeep road. The trail will eventually take you left and up again. When you get to the top, head down looking for the single track on you right. Take the right, and then another right to head down to the main trail at the bottom of a steep descent. The trail will loop around to where you started the loop. From here you take a right and head out the way you came in. Check out the video below!
