Snowmass

Snowmass is a resort just outside the town of Aspen.  This trail is awesome, heading up a ridge on the north side of the resort.  It's a fast trail, with nice single track, and thick vegetation.  Ride from the resort, have breakfast, hit the trail, and then end with a nice drink and lunch.

Getting There

  • Take HWY 82 into Aspen.
  • Follow the signs for Snowmass.
  • Take a right in Brush Creek Drive into the resort.
  • Drive up to the resort and find a place to park.

Trail Description

Head over to where Divide Road and Brush Creek Fork.  Ride up Divide Road and take a right onto the trail head at the drive for the townhomes on your right.  The trail traverses up some switchbacks until you hit the top.  At the top you have the options for viewing the overlook, or continueing to ride east on the trail.  Ride along the ridge, keeping on the single track.  You will eventually cross the road, and can then either bail, or hit the trail on the other side.  The trail will rise a little, and then you will head down and the trail will open, eventually emptying out on a gravel road.  Head down to the road, and then take a right on Brush Creek climbing back up to where you started.
