Slickrock

Very likely the most famous trail in Utah, Slickrock is just that...ROCK.  And when it is wet, it is very slick.  This trail provides some good challenges, not the least of which is remaining upright while trying to manuver around some of the stone obstacles.

Getting There

  • Go east on E 300 S from Main street.
  • Turn right on S 400 E.
  • Turn left on Millscreek Drive.

Trail Description

You can drive up to this trail, but why be a weenie?  Riding from town gives you a nice warmup.  Once you get past the guard house and pay your fee, take your first left into the large parking lot.  The trail head is at the north side of the parking area.  When you hit the trail, you will see white lines painted on the stone.  Do not lose track of these lines.  It is very easy to get lost, and people die each year thinking they're taking a shortcut.  You can do the loop either direction, but clockwise seems to be the most common, and in fact is more fun.
