Pine Valley Open Space

Pine Valley Ranch Park trails actually lead into Buffalo Creek trail system, and onto the Colorado Trail.  You can either start at Pine Valley, or Buffalo Creek to get to the track shown here.  However, I would recommend starting at Pine Valley, if for no other reason than it is just downright beautiful.  Oh yea...and a killer downhill back to the parking lot.

Getting There From Woodland Park

  • Take HWY 67 north.
  • Stay on HWY 67 until it turns into 126 at Deckers.
  • Continue north to Pine Valley.
  • Turn left at the Pine Valley Ranch Open space just north of town.
  • The road will curve and climb, eventually descending to the parking lots.

Getting There from Denver

  • Take HWY 285 to Pine Junction and go left.
  • Turn Right at the Pine Valley Open space just north of town.
  • The road will curve and climb, eventually descending to the parking lots.

Trail Description

Take the trail head at the north end of the bottom parking lot.  This trail leads to a bridge over the river for Buck Gultch.  Ride Buck up to the next parking area and go left on another single-track.  At the intersection go right to Charlies Cutoff at the top of the climb.  At Charlies go left and ride a fun downhill to a T intersection.  Go left again, back to the 4 way.  Ride the trail down back to the river.  This is a nice killer two mile downhill.  You'll love it!
