Williams Canyon used to be one of the prettiest places in the city. Very few people knew about it, or knew how to get there. But when you got into the valley, it was one of the greenest, and forested areas, something you just never see on a high planes desert. Then in 2012 some wackjob burned it all to the ground. It's still a great ride, but you can only imagine what the valley used to look like with all the dead trees around.
Park at Memorial Park in Manitou Springs.
Head south until you get to the rear entrance to Garden of the God's Park.
After passing Balanced Rock, turn left up the dirt road. This is Rampart Range Road.
The actual trail for this ride begins about 6.5 miles up Rampart Range Road. The entrance lies 100 yards past the radio towers. You can find the unmarked trailhead on your left. From here your downhill starts. This trail is VERY technical, and two sections may kill you if you make a wrong turn, so keep that in mind.
